Description
Our tiny but mighty Lovely Loon Threshold singers are part of the growing International Threshold Choir organization which started in 2000 in California by Kate Munger. We sing songs of comfort that bring ease and calm to those at the various thresholds of life. We are hospice trained and sing at the request of families seeking a musical blanket of our voices. Once a month we sing at a local memory care unit. We also practice once a month at a member’s home. Our songs include newly created Threshold songs as well as traditional songs. We warmly welcome new singers here Northern Minnesota to our tribe of “making kindness audible” Can you carry a tune? Can you blend your voice with others and communicate kindness with your voice? We invite you to join your voice with our “presence” choir. I recently found a poem (author unknown) that conveys for me the spirit of our tribal singing: Let us travel into a day of sound, no borders, no countries.
Let’s drive into a world beneath words. Let’s fall into a place where everything is music. The door opens: miracles and mysteries. We can never imagine the impact. Linda Flanagan, song leader
