Singing is a skill that be learned, just like any other skill. However, because singing is so primal and meaningful to us as human beings, when we are discouraged, we are discouraged to the core. Our confidence and self-esteem are affected. Most would-be singers stop singing completely, no questions asked. But many who "can't sing," on some level wish they could...
So profound is the joy of the new singer who has just discovered their own unique sound! Nancy uses improvisation, toning, chanting, and lots of accessible songs from various cultures to create an atmosphere of ease, joy, non-judgement and humor. Participants step in from wherever they have been to explore their own voice and experience the joy of community singing, often for the first time.
